Delicious lobster rolls that were piled high! Loved the coleslaw, fries, and onion rings as well. Blueberry pie togo was yummy later when we got hungry. Service was great. Inside is a bit small but cozy. Had to wait 10-15 minutes around 5:30PM on a Thursday. They started turning people away as it got closer to closing time so come early or risk getting turned away! Highly recommend if you are in Bangor, food is delicious. All the other food coming out (platters and haddock) looked and smelled great too.
My husband I stopped at the eagles nest when we arrived in Maine from florida. Unfortunately we got there right before 7 pm, which is when they close. Two weeks later, on our return drive to the airport, we were so excited to get to go there for lunch and our last lobster meal of the trip! It was absolutely the best food of the entire trip! Come as you are and enjoy the best Maine has to offer at this small diner. I got so spoiled! A BLT just isn’t the same without lobster in it!!
This is our go-to restaurant for seafood. It’s a cozy place, and the food isn’t fancy; but it’s one of the best places to eat in the Bangor area. The fried fish dinner (haddock) is flaky, moist, and crisp. The lobster roll is one of the best in the state. And the sandwiches, like the fish burger and the lobster grilled cheese shouldn’t be missed. All of the portions are very generous. The seafood platter is huge (fried clams, shrimp, scallops, and haddock) - big enough for two people. The food arrives very quickly, and the staff is always friendly. Prices are reasonable too. My only complaint is that don’t stay open very late. But you won’t find a better place for a great meal.
Overfull, fresh lobster rolls at reasonable prices, delicious hearty lobster stew. Beefy burgers! Even the grilled cheese is excellent. Second visit and even more pleased. Highly recommend for seafood lovers and land lovers too.
Best seafood near the Bangor area. The restaurant is small, but don't let the looks disway you. The seafood platter is massive serving of Haddock, clams, scallops and shrimp served on a proper bed of fries. The service was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this place.
If you love finding little dives with great good, then don't skip over the Eagles Nest! The dining room is small, about 10 tables, but the food comes out quick so your wait shouldn't be too bad. The lobster roll was delish, and so were my kids chicken tenders. We also got the fried shrimp and clams which were also very good and sharable. We are looking forward to another good meal the next time we roll through!
Excellence in a small package. I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm a top 2% master google reviewer so take this review to the bank. Hottest and freshest food I've had in a long time. I had the seafood platter and it was to die for. Only thing it was missing was hush puppies! Gotta make hush puppies!!! Place is small, but didn't feel cramped. Service was great and my gosh the food was amazing. I would love to see an option to upgrade to Cod instead of Haddock for an up-charge. I spent my birthday weekend trying to find good food in Portland and came up empty handed. Came here and had perfect friend seafood.
To start the view from the seating area is magical and transports you. I was recommended to try the lobster roll here and told it was the best in the state of Maine. I can confirm this is true. They filled the roll up with so much lobster so you really do get the best bang for your buck! The staff was warm and made us feel right at home. I can’t recommend this spot enough.
